Cleanear cones are produced in constantly controlled conditions of temperature and humidity in a bacteriologically monitored environment, subject to regular analysis by skilled laboratories.

The cone has been tested by several national and international universities, including:

• the Dermatological Science Institute of Siena University, which found it to be ”non-irritating and hypoallergenic,”
• the Sergel Clinic, Stockholm (Sweden), which certified its efficiency in the removal of earwax and the absence of risks and side effects,
• the Department of Experimental Physics of Trento University, which ruled out the possibility of fluid leakages through the hole at the smaller extremity of the cone, or of any combustion residue falling into the cone itself,
• the Department of Materials Engineering and Industrial Technologies of Trento University which attested the full effectiveness of the Disc and an aluminium flame-break ring in extinguishing combustion.
